University College London
MSc Precision Medicine
2022 - 2023
In the Autumn of 2022, I started studying at UCL. Studying Precision Medicine has allowed me to explore topics across a breadth of disciplines.
My modules have included:
- Personalised Medicine
- Novel Therapies
- The Genetics and Epigenetics of Human Disease
- Precision Diagnosis
- Multiomics and Ethics
- Bioinformatics in Applied Biomedical Science
- Nanomedicine
As part of the degree I completed a research project developing a REDCap database for the Pregnancy in Rheumatic Disease Investigation Network (PRINT). The PRINT study is a multi-centre collaboration to study inflammatory rheumatic diseases (including rheumatoid arthritis and systemic lupus erythematosus) in pregnancy. The database and continued recruitment of patients will support a better understanding of these conditions in pregnancy.
I also attended two 6-week programmes with UCL Innovation and Enterprise: ‘Explore your entrepreneurial idea’ and ‘Build your business or social enterprise’. With aspirations to connect health education with graphic design to improve health literacy, I enjoyed the opporutunity to build a knowledge base in startups and innovation whilst exploring new ideas.
